RESEARCH

It helps significantly when you know what you are doing doesn't it? Here's a list of reasons why you should:

  • It may result in the preferred kind of study with helpful conclusion.

  • It cuts down on inaccuracy.

  • Allows you to get optimum efficiency and reliability.

  • Reduces wastage of time.

  • Reduces uncertainty, confusion and practical haphazard related to any research problem.

  • Is of great help for collection of research material and testing of hypothesis.

  • Gets rid of bias and marginal errors.

This is the experimental stage, where accidental magic and divine inspiration strikes.

Doodling should be a primary weapon when designing. Experienced designers know that this is core to exceptional design execution. This process is not meant to perfect any lines, shapes or elements. Just piecing your ideas together can reveal satisfying and surprising fixes for when you think you are ready for the refining stage of design. How to doodle?

  • Pull out your sketch pad and a pencil/pen

  • Scribble, hatch, cross-hatch or use controlled chaotic scratches

  • Draw where you think elements

     should be.

  • Personalize an element which may have caught your attention during your research.

DOODLE
EXECUTE

Combining your research and experimental information from your doodling, this is the stage you have clarity of your route to your final design.

  • Decide your canvas size and jump in the serious design phase.

  • Using decisions you are satisfied with, simply refine them during this process

  • Play with size- so scale those objects you decided to use bigger or smaller.

  • Play with angles- sometimes just a little rotation of an object or text makes it stand out.

  • Play with color. Change the color of an element, you just might like it.

  • Always save periodically. Why lose 10hrs of design work because you forgot to save?!

  • If you are uncertain about changing an object, then make a copy of the document or the object to refer back to in case you ever need the original.
